Sucessful moderating important Lab & Diagnostics of The Future.

On 12th April in Stockholm over 100 people from academia, industry and healthcare joined together to talk about The Future of Laboratory and Diagnostics of the future which was organised by LifeSciencescience.se magazine.

Lucy Robertshaw successfully moderated the day and enjoyed the interesting topics on how we can continue working together on enabling patients to be diagnosed quicker and also so that their samples are safe as well.

It was very interesting that Uppsala have now found a way to find from a drop of blood if you have cancer, this is great so that patients can have their diagnosis quicker and so that they can start treatment quicker as well.

In May 2022 the new In vitro diagnostic medical devices Regulation (IVDR) came into legislation with in Europe, which means that now healthcare have a bigger need for administration and also a better collaboration with industry.

This is hopefully a great step forward, but the next couple of years of the implementation is going to take a lot of time and money. Unfortunately, companies who can not afford the process will have remove their products from the market and healthcare will have to try to sort out a new system that they do not have the expertise or resource for.
